Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s development studio Turbine and HBO Global Licensing have announced that fans of the HBO television series Game of Thrones will soon have the opportunity to live and die in pursuit of the Iron Throne.
Warner Bros. and HBO announced today the release of Game of Thrones: Conquest a mobile MMO for iOS and Android devices.
In Game of Thrones: Conquest, you establish your own house with its own sigil, its own army, and its own rivals. You must navigate the political landscape, gathering allies across the Seven Kingdoms, and at times you may be asked to even go to war.
Either take the role of saboteur and destroy your enemies (or allies if need-be) from within or march on their lands and confront them on the field of battle.
More than 120 Seats of Power are scattered throughout the game and ready to be yours for the taking, including iconic locations such as King’s Landing and Winterfell. If you’re lucky enough to capture one of these seats, you will also need to defend it by building your might through alliances, sometimes even with some of Game of Thrones‘ more familiar faces like Jon Snow or Daenerys Targaryen.
Game of Thrones: Conquest is now available on the App Store and on Google Play for free. For more information on the game, check out its official website. You can also watch the game’s cinematic launch trailer in the video provided below.
Of course, this isn’t the first venture to bring the Game of Thrones franchise to video games. Back in 2005, Obsidian was approached to make a game set in Westeros but the studio declined. There’s also the Game of Thrones Telltale series, which DualShockers’ own Ryan Meitzler reviewed.
