If you thought that season 7 beginning this morning was already enough for Fortnite today, you were sorely mistaken. Amidst the sea of world premieres and news at The Game Awards, Epic Games announced at the show that more is to come for their ridiculously popular game—and that more is coming from community content creators.
A location called “The Block” will be on the main Battle Royale map, and will be host to submissions from Fortnite players. Per the official website, there are some guidelines:
- 25×25 tile area on a flat section of your island. It’s very important that your creations can fit nicely on The Block.
- Try to keep your ‘Memory Used’ less than 50,000. Efficiency is just as important as creativity!
- Chests, floor loot and vehicle spawns will be determined by Epic. No need to include these.
This new area certainly goes to show how creator-friendly Epic Games seems to want Fortnite to present as, with Fortnite Creative also getting a recent announcement and Support-a-Creator not only being extended but also coming to the Epic Games Store.
The “Block Party,” as Epic calls it, is starting now.
