During Square Enix’s worldwide Final Fantasy XV broadcast, they announced that the standalone Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer: Comrades will launch on December 12 for PS4 and Xbox One. You can check out a new trailer for the game down below.
Players who already own the Comrades DLC via the Final Fantasy XV season pass will get the standalone version for free. Once it does go live, the game mode in the main Final Fantasy XV game will no longer be playable, players will instead have to download Comrades separately. Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer: Comrades will include 10 new bosses, costumes, and weapons.
On December 13, the season pass for the console version of Final Fantasy XV is getting a price drop, it’ll cost $14.99 USD. For those of you that own Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition, the Comrades standalone will be given to you for free since it already comes with that version of the game.
In other news, Hajime Tabata, the late director of the game following Tetsuya Nomura is departing from Square Enix to start his own studio. Furthermore, three of the four upcoming DLC episodes have been canceled. Episode Ardyn is still coming and Square released a new trailer for it during the broadcast. Finally, Final Fantasy XIV will be entering the world of XV in a free crossover quest.
