The Final Fantasy XIV Companion app has been available for almost three weeks, but since its release, the paid premium service announced a while ago has been inactive, until today.

With the release of update 1.02 of the Android version, Square Enix made the premium service available for purchase. It can be activated in the Mog Station for a $5.00 monthly fee. At the moment there aren’t multi-month options available.

The premium option allows players to organize their Chocobo saddlebags and their retainer inventory directly from the app, doubles the number of kupo nuts per daily login (two instead of one), and increases the number of kupo nuts you can store to ten. Kupo nuts are required to list items on the market boards or to purchase them.

On top of that, users who pay for the premium option receive one additional retainer and one additional Chocobo saddlebag.
