Square Enix has been releasing a series called “Inside Final Fantasy,” which are developer diaries that delve into the developmental process, secrets, and anecdotes in a series of interviews from some of the top developers of the game. This particular video, which focuses on Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, features interviews with:
- Yoshinori Kitase (Producer)
- Takashi Katano (Event Main Programmer)
- Momotu Toriyama (X Event Director | X-2 Director)
- Yusuke Naora (X Art Director)
The video is a half hour long deep dive into a fascinating and timeless title with the interviews supplying tons of information, including a look at character designs, environments, and more. Just make sure to enable subtitles on the video itself to better enjoy the Japanese language interviews (unless you speak Japanese yourself, then have fun!).
If you want to know even more about Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster then look no further than our own breakdown of the Nintendo Switch port and how the game fares with a coat of fresh paint and new features. Just know that while Final Fantasy X is on the physical cartridge, Final Fantasy X-2 requires a digital download to play.
And in weirder news, Square Enix partnered with Kung Fu Tea to promote the game by releasing an exclusive flavor called Tidus & Yuna’s Grape Elixir. They also ran a custom Nintendo Switch and Xbox One giveway campaign on social media, which is definitely less weird.
Final Fantasy X was the first game in the series for PS2, releasing in 2001, and Final Fantasy X-2 was the first direct follow up in the series, releasing in 2003. Since then Square Enix has been releasing remasters for the games starting with the PS3, PS Vita, and PS4 versions. The latest version came out for Nintendo Switch on April 16th. You can purchase Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster for Switch here, for PS4 here, and for Xbox One here.
