It is apparent that we could see a release of a Final Fantasy VII Remake demo in the foreseeable future. This rumor comes from the website Gamstat that keeps up to date with every addition made to the PlayStation store. If this demo happens to be true, it will likely contain a portion of the iconic bombing run in the opening hour of the original. This was the portion of the upcoming JRPG that we got to play both at E3 as well as PAX West. While a short experience, it gives players a great idea of what exactly they are getting into from a gameplay perspective compared to Final Fantasy VII.

Along with the demo is a listing of the anticipated Patapon 2 Remastered. The remaster was originally announced back in 2017 at the last PlayStation Experience where it was also playable. The game was originally planned for a 2018 release, but since its announcement, we have heard nothing, not even a rumor until now.
We still have no idea about the legitimacy of whether either will actually release on the PlayStation store anytime soon or at all for that matter. However, tomorrow is Christmas and I know I would be happy to wake up and get a demo of arguably the highest anticipated title of next year. Even if it doesn’t come to fruition, Final Fantasy VII Remake at the very least is upon the horizon so the wait isn’t much longer as is. The game is set to release on March 3, 2020, exclusively on PlayStation 4 and you can pre-order it right now on Amazon.
