Today, Danish developer Bedtime Digital Games announced that its musical-adventure game Figment — the studio’s second release — is poised to launch next month, September 22nd, for PC, Mac, and Linux. Meanwhile, the game’s Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch versions will come sometime this winter.
To celebrate this announcement, the developer also released a brand-new, official launch trailer.
In Figment, players will join Dusty and his optimistic friend, Piper, “on an adventure through the different sides of the mind, solving puzzles to set things straight, beating back the nightmares, and seeking to restore the courage that’s has been lost.”
A story description continues:
Welcome to the world of Figment. A strange and surreal world; a place filled with our deepest thoughts, urges and memories, populated by the many voices we hear in our heads. This mind has been quiet and calm for many years. But something has changed. New thoughts have started to emerge – taking the shape of nightmarish creatures who spread fear wherever they go. The only hope is for the grumpy Dusty, the mind’s former voice of courage, to get back to his old self and help the mind to face its fears.
Bedtime Digital Games has been working on Figment for three years, which you can see in the game’s beautiful hand-drawn art. The title follows the studio’s debut game — Back to Bed — which the Danish developer described as a “huge success.”
It’s currently unclear how much Figment will cost when it hits, but it will likely be priced comparatively to other similar indie games. Below, you can check out the new, aforementioned trailer:
