For FIFA 20 FUT players everywhere, today is an important day. With Summer Heat starting to wind down after over a month of solid content, EA Sports has officially dropped some of the year’s best cards back into packs. Additionally, the team is kicking off the game’s eighth season, bringing tons of new stuff to unlock with it. While it might not be the total blowout of content some were hoping for, it does seem like a good start to what should be an exciting two weeks of SBCs, Objectives, and more.
The third and final #SummerHeat 'Best Of' release is available in packs in #FUT20 now.

Let’s start with the “Best of” packs. Over the past month, most of FIFA 20‘s promos have come back into packs, making it super easy to build a great team. However, until now, the Team of the Season So Far cards were left out. As of today, that all changes. Not only are the best TOTSSF players back in packs, but they’re joined by some of the top cards from every other promo.
So, you’ll both be packing top-tier stars and seeing all the best card prices fall. If you’re sitting on coins and want to truly make your Ultimate Team, now is the time to do so. Unfortunately, a few of the best cards (mostly FUT Birthday Kylian Mbappe) aren’t in packs because their TOTSSF is. But those are mostly outliers. I’d wager 95% of the big boys are accounted for.
But wait, there’s more! Today also marks the start of season eight. Personally, I think the player selection is a little disappointing, but that’s just me. As you move through the season, you’ll get extra packs and new cosmetics like always.
Halfway through the reward pass, you’ll have the choice of either Morales (90-rated), Andre Gomes (91), or Kenny Tete (92). I’ll probably pick up Tete just for the rating, but with all of the great cards back in packs, this selection is a little underwhelming. By the time most people unlock these cards, they’ll mostly feel pointless. Tete at least fills a bit of need as a Ligue 1 right-back; however, Kenny Lala’s TOTSSF is better in nearly every aspect and is now back in packs. Of course, the counterpoint is that these cards are free outside of time spent playing. So, if you’re just terrible at making coins, I guess these cards are for you.
At the top of the rewards is another player pick. Here, you can either get Anthony Martial (92), Federico Bernardeschi (93) or Emre Can (93). This pick is a little more interesting. I’m sure most will go with Manchester United’s young French striker in Martial. However, Bernardeschi fills a need for a good right-wing in the Serie A. Outside of Shapeshifter Ronaldo, that position has been in dire straights for the FIFA 20 end game. Bernardeschi finally gives league fans what they need.
As always, players will also have the opportunity to get even more players through Objectives and SBCs. To start the season, squad battle players can earn an upgraded version of Daniel James’ Future Stars card, while an upgraded Arturo Vidal is ready for your fodder in SBCs. As Summer Heat winds down, I would fully expect quite a few more big-name players to join their ranks. Fingers crossed for N’Golo Kante in SBCs tomorrow.
While FIFA 20 is still a bit of a mess in terms of gameplay, there hasn’t been a better time to hop in and create the squad of your dreams. Players prices should continue to tank in the coming days and EA continues to drop great, grindable content. Give the game a look on PC, PS4, or Xbox One if you need more football in your life.
