At the Aniplex panel at Otakon 2017 in Washington D.C., the publisher announced the upcoming event Fate/Grand Order event “Does Moon Goddess Dream of Dumplings?”
The event will run in the western version of the game between August 17th and August 24th, and it will feature a story written by Fate series creator Kinoko Nasu, introducing the Moon Goddess, a limited time 5-star Heroic Spirit of the Archer class.
During the story, players are tasked with solving the mystery surrounding an enigmatic Heroic Spirit who appears on the night of the Moon Festival. Incidentally.
The five-star heroic spirit is “Orion,” but you’ll probably notice from the images that she doesn’t look like the name at all. There is an explanation for this, but I’ll let you play the story and discover it for yourself.
More goodies included in the event are Craft Essences Moon Goddess’ Bath (five-star SSR), Moony Jewel (four-star SR), and Mooncell Automation (three-star R). The event.-limited Craft Essence Moonlight Fest (five-star SSR) will also be available exclusively through playing the event’s quests.
In order to participate, players will have to challenge the event quests at Chaldea Gate, and collect two types of dumpling that drop from them. Collecting enough dumplings will unlock the new story. Equipping the Craft Essences mentioned above also increases the drop rate of the dumplings.
Recently, the Japanese version of the game received a new summer event. We don’t know when that one will come to the western version, but Creative Director Yosuke Shiokawa told us in a recent interview that the team is trying to follow the Japanese event schedule as closely as possible, so it might yet come.
The game is also getting two spin-offs, in the form of an arcade team battle game and a PlayStation VR waifu simulator featuring Mashu Kyrielight.
Fate/Grand Order is currently available for iOS and Android.
