The mobile version of Fate/Grand Order that released in June of 2017 has now surpassed 5 million downloads on iOS and Android devices worldwide.
The mobile free-to-play RPG is quite popular, having made publisher Aniplex, a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment Japan, lots of money over the course of its lifetime. Following its public success, it has also gotten some critical acclaim such as the “Award for excellence in the “Games of the Year” category at the Japan Game Awards 2018 organized by the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA) this past September.” In reaction to the success it has seen Fate/Grand Order will have a “5 Million Downloads Campaign” that begins on January 30, 2019 and will reward players with daily log-in bonuses, increased success rates for Servanta nd Craft Essence enhancements, and the acquisition quest of the Royal Brand Mystic Code is returning.
The celebratory campaign also marks the return of the limited time ★5 (SSR) Caster-class Servant, Leonardo da Vinci, as character players can enjoy an increased chance to summon the limited-time Servant to their teams. This is the first chance players have had to summon Chaldea’s own universal genius since her original (and until now only) appearance during Fate/Grand Order’s First Year Anniversary event, held in July of 2018.
Fate/Grand Order is currently available in United States, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnam with five languages supported.
In September of 2018 it was reported that Fate/Grand Order had made nearly 9 billion Yen (or about $80 million in USD) just in the month of September. Comparatively Pokemon Go made $70 million during the month of October 2018.
Due to the strong reactions to Fate/Grand Order in the United States, there is currently a Fate/Grand Order U.S.A. Tour 2019 that begins in Los Angeles, California on February 23-24 with more locations and dates to follow. Tickets went live last week and the tour will include some special guests and exhibits of the game. Some exhibits include: Jeanna d’Arc amd Jeanne d’Arc (Alter)’s flags, Nero Claudius’s Astus Estus, Gilgamesh’s sword, Ea, Leonardo da Vinci’s staff, Sakata Kintoki (Rider)’s Golden Bear, and Altria Pendragon (Alter)’s Excalibur Morgan. A PlayStation VR “experience” of the game will be coming to PlayStation 4 on Febraury 26, 2019 and will let you “interact” with Mash Kyrielight.
