The week of leaks continue. It has been rumored for a while now that a new Fable is in the works. Those rumors are given some credence as details have potentially leaked ahead of Xbox’s E3 showcase.
Although the video that was originally posted has since been deleted, Reddit user LagSwag1 listed the details from the upcoming Fable game:
- First and third-person perspectives
- In-depth character customization
- A completely open-world
- No more guns
- You can completely ignore the main quest and never become the hero.
- You can build a town. This ties into the game’s main quest and the game’s ending.
- Multiplayer
- Created using Unreal Engine
The features listed, if true, will certainly make for a different Fable experience from all of its predecessors. Much of the listed items, including first-person perspective, a “completely open” open-world, and multiplayer are new to the franchise. It’s also interesting to see that the game won’t have any guns. Guns were implemented in Fable 2 as the land of Albion was industrialized. The lack of guns, as well as the story details, hints that we may be going back to a time period resembling the first Fable.
“Albion and Aurora are gone. ‘Lands reduced to fables.’ The Spire was rebuilt and used by a mad king to wish that an asteroid would strike the planet. He also wished it would happen again in the far future. Eons later and everything is new (medieval themed, new continents) and you have to stop the destruction of the planet again. Theresa and a Heroes Guild are preserved on another planet via a demon door. Time Travel heavily involved in play. Jack of Blades returns.”
How Theresa, the Heroes Guild, and Jack of Blades will be involved is still a mystery. Although Albion and Aurora are gone, with time travel being “heavily involved,” we may be able to return to the worlds of previous games. Of course, this is just speculation.
This is just one of a few leaks just before E3. Just yesterday, Watch Dogs Legion details were divulged courtesy of Amazon UK.
