During their GDC 2019 presentation, Epic Games announced that developers can now sell Epic Games Store game keys through the Humble Bundle storefront.
According to an official statement concerning the partnership: “The Epic team is excited to give players more choices for buying games, and bring developers new avenues for reaching players. Over time we hope to partner with other highly reputable digital stores to expand purchasing options.”
Currently titles purchased this way will be redeemable via game key. However, Epic Games has stated that they will soon let consumers to link their Epic and Humble accounts to allow for easier and more streamlined purchasing. Epic will not receive a profit from any titles purchased through the Humble Bundle store, the same policy Valve upholds.
Just last week, Epic Games founder Tim Sweeney tweeted out that he “wholeheartedly support key sales for non-exclusive games,” a hint to the big reveal at the GDC conference today:
Let us dig into this topic here. It’s a good question and we wholeheartedly support key sales for non-exclusive games.

This was in response to questions concerning why he wouldn’t allow the sale of Division 2 to third party retailers, to which he replied that “Ubisoft agreed to a co-exclusive on UPlay and the Epic Games store.”
There were many other choice announcements made at today’s conference. Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain, and Beyond Two Souls will all come to the Epic Games Store on PC as timed exclusives for 12 months. Quantic Dream and Epic Games stated that they would be releasing the PC versions of these titles later this year. Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden was confirmed to come to Nintendo Switch this June.
Finally, both Control from Remedy Games and Journey to the Savage Planet from Typhoon Studios will also be coming to the Epic Games Store as a timed exclusive for a year. Control and Journey to the Savage Planet have not received official release dates at this time but the former is believed to be coming out this summer.
