When The Last of Us Part II was originally announced back in late 2016, it was also revealed that Ellie, who was your NPC partner in the original game, would be the main character in this entry, leaving some fans to wonder if she would have someone helping her out this time around. This seems to be the case, as developer Naughty Dog has confirmed that there will be…to some extent.
While speaking to Buzzfeed, Neil Druckmann made the comment that, while the NPC was not shown in the recent E3 2018 demo, they will be present in the game, although who the NPC will be was not confirmed:
Umm, it’s safe to say with the game that we made in the past that there will be some NPC with you in this story, even though we’re not showing [the NPC] in this demo.
In other The Last of Us Part II news, last month more details about the game’s combat, stealth, and level design were revealed during E3 Coliseum. The same day, Naughty Dog released more character images from the game.
The Last of Us Part II is set to be released exclusively on PlayStation 4, however, as of the time of this writing, the game doesn’t have a release date or even a release window.
