Today Koei Tecmo released two new videos of its upcoming open-world Musou game Shin Sangokumusou 8, which will be titled Dynasty Warriors 9 in the west due to the traditional titling discrepancy that has existed since the very first game.
The first clip is a trailer coming for Japan, showing off the pre-order costumes for the game, which are the previously-announced “Dudou” style for Guan Yinping, Diaochan, Sun Shangxiang, Lu Lingqi, Wang Yi, and Wang Yuanji, and a Beijing Opera-style costume for Zhao Yun.
According to the publisher, they’re “inspired by traditional Chinese garments,” but besides Zhao Yun’s outfit, looks like they strayed just a little bit. Not that I’m complaining, because (again, besides Zhao Yun’s outfit) they look really cute.
The second video is a commercial from the western branches of the publisher, giving another glimpse on the English voice acting.

Dynasty Warriors 9 will launch in Japan on February 8th, exclusively for PS4. The western release will hit the shelves just a few days later, on February 13th. In the west, the game will also launch for Xbox One, and PC.
