Capcom has released some new screenshots showing off their popular action RPG Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen running on the Nintendo Switch. You can check out all of the new in-game shots down below.
Dark Arisen is an expanded version of Capcom’s original Dragon’s Dogma that came out on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2012. It adds a hefty amount of extra content to the game. I’m personally interested in seeing how the game will ultimately run on the console-handheld hybrid.
If you’ve been looking for another meaty RPG to dive into on the Switch, Dark Arisen will definitely quench your craving. I reviewed the PS4 and Xbox One port back when it launched in 2017. While the game does feel a little clunky compared to other modern RPGs, it does have a lot of charm that has allowed it to garner a fan following that has been clamoring for a sequel from Devil May Cry 5 director Hideaki Itsuno.
Itsuno-san recently said that he had chosen to work on Devil May Cry 5 as opposed to Dragon’s Dogma 2. Hopefully, Itsuno-san will get the chance to explore the ideas he has for the Dragon’s Dogma sequel. I think the game would definitely benefit from some more modern improvements and I definitely would love to see it take advantage of the RE Engine that has been used on Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, and the remake of Resident Evil 2.
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is coming to the Nintendo Switch soon on April 23.
