While consensus is that DOOM on Nintendo Switch is a terrific port to a handheld system, few would deny that it isn’t a little rough around the edges when compared to the PC, PS4, or Xbox One versions. And while developers Panic Button and id Software can’t fix some issues stemming from the underlying hardware, a forthcoming update is looking to fix some of the more notable problems that fans and critics have been pointing out.

News comes directly from DOOM’s verified Twitter account, where they revealed that later this month an update for the Nintendo Switch version will fix audio issues, bring menu fixes, and more:

Little else is known about the update — obviously, we will be seeing more official patch notes in the future with further details. However, if the UI or the noted audio concerns were keeping you back from playing the game, you can go into purchasing the game with a little more confidence.

For those living under a rock from some of the best FPS games this generationDOOM launched in early 2016 to thunderous applause — a true return-to-form for the series. The game originally came out for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, but made its way to Nintendo Switch last Fall.
