The E3 2019 press conference list continues to grow ever-smaller. With Sony having previously announced that it would be skipping out on E3 2019 altogether combined with EA’s reveal earlier today that its annual EA Play event wouldn’t contain an opening press event either, the list of participating publishers having old-school presentations at the show has started to dwindle. Luckily, indie publisher Devolver Digital won’t be among those skipping out on holding a press conference this summer at E3.
Following EA’s reveal this morning of the details for EA Play, the official Devolver Digital Twitter account confirmed that it will indeed still be holding a press conference at E3. Devolver started hosting these pre-taped press conferences back at E3 2017 and continued the tradition in 2018.
If you haven’t seen a Devolver E3 press conference before, let’s just say it’s what you might be expecting. While the publisher does announce a variety of new games that it will be releasing in the future, the show as a whole is more of one long skit that is meant to provide meta-commentary on the gaming industry. It’s like if a Tim & Eric episode crossed over with gaming Twitter. There’s also a lot of blood and gore. You can check out last year’s press conference at the bottom of the page to get a better idea of what I mean.
More details on Devolver’s typical E3 insanity will surely be revealed as we draw closer to June. I’m excited to see what kind of insanity they will be able to cook up this year.
