In November, Black Desert Online developer and publisher Pearl Abyss unveiled three new MMOs: Plan 8, Crimson Desert and DokeV. Today, they decided to discuss DokeV, a Pokemon inspired “collectible MMO” that tasks players with collecting creatures called Dokebi. They not only revealed some new art and screenshots for the game but confirmed that its theme song was created in collaboration with K-pop songwriters Galactika as well.
For those of you not familiar with K-Pop, Galaktika is actually the songwriting group behind many K-pop groups like Monsta X and Itzy. They collaborated with Pearl Abyss on DokeV’s main theme – Rockstar. While you probably heard the theme during the reveal trailer, Pearl Abyss also released a lyric video that allows you to listen to the entire song and see what it says in both English and Korean. Check it out below:
As for the game itself, some art giving us a new look at many of its environments was released. It’s clear that they are going for a bustling, energetic, and futuristic vibe with DokeV, and these images and lyric video both reinforce that. A very short video that gives us our first look at the game running in real-time was also released, and the game looks pretty good. You can see the new images and the short video below. DokeV will release for PC and unspecified consoles, with Pearl Abyss intended to hold the first beta in 2020.
