After more than ten years since we last saw Dante and Nero kicking demon ass and taking names, the very long-awaited Devil May Cry 5 is finally about to release on consoles and PC later this year. In case you couldn’t tell from our review that went up today, don’t worry: Devil May Cry 5 has very much been worth the wait, and now you can take a look for yourself at what to expect from the game’s trifecta of demon-slaying badasses.
Ahead of the game’s launch later this week, you can check out 20 minutes of gameplay from Devil May Cry 5 below featuring each of the game’s main playable characters: Dante, Nero, and the mysterious new character known as “V.”
In each of the videos below, you’ll get to check out around 6-7 minutes of gameplay that should give a better sense of how Dante, Nero, and V all play from a combat standpoint, as they each feature remarkably different abilities and styles from one another. Dante of course comes packing his range of Devil Arms, while Nero opts for his Red Queen and Blue Rose in combination with his new Devil Breaker abilities to grab enemies from afar. V, however, plays completely differently from the two demon hunters, so I’ll just let you see that for yourself.
All of the footage that you’ll find below was captured from the Xbox One version of the game (on an original model of the system). While I didn’t quite get to try out the fancier bells and whistles of seeing what the game looked like on either one of the higher-end consoles or on PC, Devil May Cry 5 was still no slouch on my original Xbox One, and hopefully you’ll get to see that come through in the gameplay footage we captured while playing.
Devil May Cry 5 will release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you’re looking forward to slaying demons as much as I was, you can still pre-order the game now over on Amazon before it arrives this Friday.
