Aniplex revealed another new trailer for Kimetsu no Yaiba Hinokami Keppuutan, the Demon Slayer fighting game by CyberConnect2, this time revealing the Insect Hashira, Shinobu Kocho, as a playable character – when will we get a release date on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC?

Demon Slayer Hinokami Keppuutan, Insect Hashira Shinobu Kocho trailer
The trailer features a fight between Insect Hashira Shinobu Kocho and Water Hashira Giyu Tomioka. Shinobu fights with gracious slashes using her Insect Breathing, and she’s voiced as always by the incredible Saori Hayami. Who also voices Ayaka in Genshin Impact, to take a now mainstream example.

Demon Slayer Hinokami Keppuutan – Who are the playable characters so far?
First off, you should keep in mind CyberConnect2 confirmed all the characters are only playable in Versus mode. Hinting that the Story Mode will only focus on protagonist Tanjiro Kamado. Next, CyberConnec2 also revealed The Demon Slayer fighting game uses a Tag Battle system; The battles are 1 vs 1, but each player can switch with another character during the fight.
So far, we have the following characters as playable:
- Tanjiro Kamado
- Nezuko Kamado
- Inosuke Hashibira
- Zenitsu Agatsuma
- Giyu Tomioka
- Sakonji Urokodaki
- Sabito
- Makomo
- Shinobu Koucho

Demon Slayer Hinokami Keppuutan release date
Aniplex and CyberConnect2 have yet to announce a specific release date for the Demon Slayer game besides 2021. Moreover, the game was first announced back in March 2020. It’s been over a year now. It’s unlikely to be delayed as CC2 in the past said development was proceeding particularly smoothly. So we should get a late 2021 release date announced soon.

Demon Slayer PS5, Xbox game release in the west
Lastly, this is the final point to keep in mind: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hinokami Keppuutan is scheduled to launch in Japan on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. However, the game was technically not announced yet outside Japan. No worries and it’ll definitely come over seeing how huge the anime became. Perhaps at an upcoming event like E3 2021, we could soon get an announcement of the Western version of the Demon Slayer game, and the reveal of the English title.
