Deathloop, the latest title from Arkane Studios, was originally set to release before the end of 2020, but ended up being delayed until next year just a few months back. As of today, however, it now seems as though we have a good idea of when the game will be dropping.
Spotted via the New Zealand PlayStation Store (thanks for the find Gematsu) Deathloop has been listed to release on May 20, 2021. The store page also reveals that Deathloop will have two official editions of the standard and deluxe fare. The latter version includes a number of additional in-game goodies to go along with a digital copy of the soundtrack. As of now, neither Bethesda nor Arkane have confirmed that this information is true, but considering that it leaked through a pretty official channel, this information is likely accurate.
Despite being purchased by Microsoft earlier this year, Deathloop is actually a game from Bethesda that will see a bit of an odd release. Due to previous deals that were put in place before the Microsoft acquisition, Bethesda will be releasing Deathloop as a console exclusive to PS5 for a set period of time. The game will also be heading to PC on this same assumed release date in May 2021, but those on Xbox Series X/S might have to wait a bit longer to see it head their way.
We’ll keep you posted on this story once Bethesda or Arkane end up making the launch date official. Until then, you can check out one of the latest trailers for Deathloop attached above.
