Izanagi Games revealed a teaser trailer for Death Come True, the new FMV game by Danganronpa‘s Kazutaka Kodaka. The trailer features Kanata Hongo who plays the protagonist, and a new character named Akane Sachimura.

Akane Sachimura is a police investigator and one of the main characters of the story. Protagonist Makoto Karaki initially finds Akane tied up in the bathroom of the hotel room he wakes up in, as seen in the teaser trailer below. Akane is described as a strong person, but who can show an emotional side at times.

Akane is played by actress Chiaki Kuriyama, who became huge and known worldwide in the early 2000s thanks to her appearance in Battle Royale. This is also what netted her a role in Tarantino’s Kill Bill: Volume 1. Speaking of all this brings back some memories and how times have changed. Be it how I have no idea how to even pirate a movie anymore, or how Battle Royale now describes a popular video game genre instead of the movie/novel. A video game genre whose best game isn’t Fortnite but Bomberman.

Chiaki Kuriyama is also an accomplished singer. She handled one of the ending theme songs of Gundam Unicorn, and the opening theme song of Level-E, a masterpiece by Hunter x Hunter’s Yoshihiro Togashi. Be sure to participate in the RT contest organized by Izanagi Games to win her autograph if you’re also a fan.

Death Come True‘s protagonist is supposedly a serial killer and can also loop time each time he dies. You can read more about that with our previous coverage.

Comments from music composer Masafumi Takada were also shared;

Because this is my first experience joining an FMV game, it has been fun to work on the project every day. I would be very happy if the players would listen to the sound of the project. Thank you very much.

Death Come True is coming in 2020 and has no platforms set in stone yet. Izanagi Games mentioned it’ll tentatively release on iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and PC, but things might change as development is still ongoing, depending on review procedures and other stuff.
