In over an hour, a new update will be available for DayZ in experimental servers on PC which not only reduces the maximum attack range of infected but also adjusts some new range for various attacks of these enemies.
This is a community-demanded change in the game, so make sure to provide your feedback to the developers before they bring it to the primary servers.
DayZ Experimental PC Update Patch Notes
CHANGED:
- Reduced maximum attack range of infected by 20%
- Adjusted attack ranges for various infected attacks
The developers at Bohemia Interactive are planning to deploy these changes on the main servers sooner or later, however, it’s important to find the best rate of reduction that still keeps the game challenging enough, based on Bohemia’s standards.
Depending on the feedback from players, this reduction in range might change when applying to the main servers of the game. While the community demands more reduction in the attack range of infected, developers have decided to begin with a lower rate for now.
DayZ Experimental Server Maintenance Schedule

DayZ is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can play it on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S through the Backward Compatibility feature. It’s worth noting that the game is available for free for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
