Since its release in 2016, Darkest Dungeon has been challenging players to explore increasingly eerie and horrifying chambers with monsters and travesties, and now a new experience is coming to players with the upcoming “The Color of Madness.”
Developer Red Hook Studios has announced that the next DLC for Darkest Dungeon, called “The Color of Madness,” will be coming to the PC, Mac, and Linux versions of the game on June 19th, 2018 for $4.99. Red Hook confirmed that the DLC will also be coming to the game’s other versions of PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PS Vita, and iPad, though no exact release date has been confirmed at this time for those platforms.
The DLC itself will feature a new wave-based survival challenge in a new area called The Farmstead, which will force players to fight endless hordes of monsters to reach the crash site of an elusive comet. This new feature will have three levels of difficulty that provide repeatable quests: an introduction level, a boss fight, and the endless wave combat experience.
In addition to that, “The Color of Madness” will also introduce new music, new Trinkets, two new bosses, and a new Enemy Faction that players will encounter along their journeys through The Farmstead.
Darkest Dungeon is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS Vita, iPad, PC, Mac, and Linux, with the game’s “The Color of Madness” DLC coming on June 19th, 2018.
