We’re now just a few hours away from one of this year’s most anticipated titles, Cyberpunk 2077. The title is CD Projekt Red’s first major release since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt back in 2015, and is, without doubt, going to end the year as one of 2020’s best selling games. As with all new major releases, Cyberpunk 2077 has received a new, exciting launch trailer before its release, however, eagle-eyed viewers have noticed something a little different about this one.

Flashing up for a fraction of a second, right at the end of the trailer is a message from the developers. The message contains information about Cyberpunk’s upcoming DLC, which is due to release next year.

The note initially thanks fans for their support, before saying:

“We’ve mentioned before that expansions will be coming, and while we’re not ready to talk specifics just yet, we will say that we’ve learned a lot from our work on both Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine. Our planned expansions will take you even deeper into the world of Cyberpunk 2077 offering substantial, story-driven content that’ll give you tough choices to make through impactful narratives that you won’t soon forget.

But before we get there, we’ll first be kicking off our free DLC program in early 2021. Just like with The Witcher 3, expect an assortment of free DLC packs to begin hitting Night City, dropping a bunch of cool stuff that’ll inject even more life into the world of the dark future. We hope you’re looking forward to them!”

While the information in the trailer isn’t anything groundbreaking, with the devs previously mentioning the game would be receiving free DLC, as well as mentioning The Witcher 3’s lessons, it’s good to see that it’s still on track to launch next year.

Although the game is currently receiving very high praise in reviews, CD Projekt Red has still come under a lot of scrutiny. Liana Ruppert from GameInformer suffered a major seizure whilst playing the game due to light patterns similar to those used by neurologists to induce seizures in patients. It was later noted that the game also didn’t have a clear epilepsy warning at the start of gameplay, something which the developers have pledged to fix.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available from December 10 on Google Stadia, PC, PS4 and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series S/X versions coming next year.
