The success of Crash Bandicoot’s N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled has led many fans to believe that Activision has been priming gamers for a brand new game to the classic series. Activision’s CEO Bobby Kotick further fueled that thirst last August when he stated that there were “a lot of opportunities” to grow existing IPs such as Crash Bandicoot. Some fans assumed that just maybe the publishing behemoth would be serving up a fresh side of Bandicoot with the incoming new console generation. Now we can still dream of an official Crash Bandicoot sequel, but according to Twitter users and Crash Bandicoot superfans, JumpButton and Motwera, the next time we see Crash Bandicoot, it will be on your mobile devices as an endless runner.

The aforementioned Twitter sleuths have found the listing for a Crash Bandicoot spin-off from Activision’s mobile studio, King, the creators of Candy Crush. The listing was spotted from a Facebook ad, but unfortunately the page is not live just yet. Two images from the ads reveal that Crash can run, jump, and slide, as well build and grow a base, which may show that there’s more to this game than just being an endless runner. A runner-type game would definitely fit well in the Crash universe, as dodging, jumping and running are core elements in the original games.

A listing found at Storemaven contains an extensive description of the game that reveals that the mobile Crash Bandicoot game is an original story that features the marsupial and his sister Coco once again taking on Dr. Neo Cortex and his henchmen. The story will take place on Wumpa Island and will contain several hidden paths and secret areas. The building aspect of the game includes unlocking buildings that will supply you with an arsenal of weapons, growing and harvesting crops to produce powerful serums, collecting blaze pods from Wumpa’s volcano, and repairing a rocket to fly to a space station.

Activision seems insistent on bringing their biggest franchises to mobile devices as seen last year with Call of Duty Mobile and the upcoming Diablo Immortal, so a Crash Bandicoot mobile game sounds entirely possible. Keep it here as we follow this developing story.
