Well, it’s about time… Everyone’s favorite marsupial is coming back in Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time for PS4 and Xbox One on October 2.
Developed by Toys for Bob and published by Activision, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is a sequel to the last Naughty Dog developed Crash Bandicoot game, Warped. Everything released after that will no longer be canon; at least, that is what one particular scene in the trailer suggests.
The trailer gives us the first glimpse of gameplay. It looks like it will play like the old Crash Bandicoot games you know and love (or hate). There will also be makes that give you different abilities. It also looks like you will be able to play as Doctor Neo Cortex and Coco Bandicoot during some sections of the game.
If you purchase Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time digitally, you will get the Totally Tubular skins for Crash and Coco. As seen at the end of the trailer, the skins are very 80s skater inspired.
The announcement for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is hardly a surprise. It was recently leaked on Taiwan’s rating board.
Personally, I have never been a fan of Crash Bandicoot. Growing up, I was a Nintendo kid, so Super Mario was my choice of platformer. Despite that, this does seem like an exciting announcement for all the Crash fans out there. Completely ignoring everything passed Warped is a pretty crazy move. Also, it does look pretty nice graphically. Will I play this? Probably not, but I’m sure plenty will.
As previously mentioned, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will launch on October 2 for Xbox One and PS4. It should be noted that the trailer does mention Xbox Series X as a platform as well. If you want to see more Crash, you can check out the screenshots below.
