You know, at times we have those awkward moments in which we realize that we have been trolled. A few days ago opened a teaser website with a countdown, and obviously, everyone thought it was for a new game.
Well, it was not.
Today the countdown expired, and we learn that it was for the announcement of a distribution of tissues that will be held at 5:00 PM Japan Time in front of the third Trader store in Akihabara, Tokyo.
If the idea of a tissue distribution sounds weird to you, packages of tissues are a rather common promotional handout in Japan. They normally include leaflets with ads for establishments, bars, or companies.
Even in this case, the tissue will come with a leaflet that will have a QR Code allowing fans to access a “special behind the scenes footage” of the game, on top of the latest information. The event will be supervised by Compile Heart President Norihisa Kochiwa himself.
Incidentally, the event also aims to convey the publisher’s apologies to the fans for the recently-announced delay.
In case you’re disappointed, you can at least fake comfort in the fact that we got some new gameplay, which you can enjoy below. If you want to see more, you can enjoy the previous video from yesterday, another from the day before, a trailer focusing on battle mechanics, another trailer showing more of the battle system, some recent screenshots, the charming opening cutscene, another gameplay trailer, an additional trailer showing more gameplay, a batch of artwork featuring the game’s waifus and their sexy glitch style, a gallery of screenshots showing more characters and mechanics, an older batch of screenshots with the same focus, and even more images.
Death end re;Quest was supposed to release in Japan exclusively for PS4 on March 1st, but we recently heard of a delay to April 12th. No western release has been announced for the moment.
