Cloud9 have made some alterations to its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team this week, seeing Fnatic’s Robin “Flusha” Ronnquist joining its ranks.
In a blog post on the team’s official site, Cloud9 welcomed the veteran player who’s been making waves on the ever-evolving Counter-Strike: Global Offensive eSports scene since 2012; one year before Cloud9 was founded. Flusha had spent a great deal of time working with Fnatic and secured three major championships throughout his career. Even more impressively, he was an integral part of Fnatic’s 2015 team that saw them winning ELS One in Cologne and ELS One in Katowice within a six month period.
With Flusha one their side, the Cloud9 team has their sights set on this year’s BLAST Pro Series in Istanbul which kicks off later this week. This will mark Flusha’s first large competitive outing with the squad.
However, the arrival of Flusha to Cloud9’s also spells the end of Martin “STYKO” Styk’s career with the team. STYKO had arrived during the summer of this year on loan and has now officially been released from his contract.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is available now on PC, Mac, Linux, and on console via Xbox One. The classic team-based military shooter now also features a free-to-play option that allows players to battle AI opponents.
We are announcing the release of @STYKOcsgo. He has been an incredible teammate & his presence will be missed. We wish you all the best!
Joining #C9CSGO in his stead is one of Counter-Strike’s most legendary players. Welcome Señor VAC @flusha_csgo!
