People keep asking about whether or not the Vita is back and I haven’t really had an answer. Well, with today’s release of Chasm, yeah, I’m thinking it’s back.
Chasm is a new retro-inspired Metroidvania game that just released today on PS4, PC, and most important of all, our beloved Vita. That’s right, for the first time in what seems like forever the Vita version of a somewhat noteworthy game has released on the same day as it other platform counterparts.
Not all games are abandoning the Vita in favor of the Switch, though I have to imagine developer Bit Kid want to get Chasm on that platform as well if it makes sense for them to do so. That’s beside the point though! Let’s celebrate that we can dust off our wonderful Sony handhelds once again to play another indie darling.
You can check out the launch trailer for Chasm if you’d like to learn a little bit more about it. You can also read our review for the game which just went live this morning. Chasm is also available on PC, Mac, and PS4 in addition to Vita.
Don’t ever let anyone try to tell you that the Vita is dead.
