All four entries in Techland’s Call of Juarez series were published by Ubisoft in North America. Unfortunately, the series seem to have been ignored by Ubisoft in recent years, resulting in the removal of two Call of Juarez games from digital stores recently. Today, we learned that publishing rights for the Call of Juarez series have returned to Techland, which bodes well for the series future.
While Techland was originally just a game developer, they have expanded with Techland Publishing in recent years, releasing games like Torment: Tides of Numenera and Pure Farming 2018. Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, which was previously delisted, has returned to digital store shelves with Techland Publishing as the game’s publisher.
Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is even available at a 33% discount on Steam to celebrate its return. Adam Lasoń, CPO of Techland Publishing, commented on the studio reacquiring publishing rights for the Call of Juarez series:
“Developed by Techland, the Call of Juarez series received a great reception and support from a huge community of players. As Techland Publishing moves forward as a leading publisher, we are delighted to welcome Call of Juarez: Gunslinger to our publishing division. We would like to thank Ubisoft for its incredible work publishing the Call of Juarez games. We’ll continue the great efforts of Ubisoft and support the fans of the Call of Juarez universe in the same dutiful and passionate way.”
Techland has also promised to reveal more information about when other Call of Juarez games will become available on other digital stores in the future. Until then, you can enjoy Call of Juarez: Gunslinger on PC, PS4, and Xbox 360.
