It’s nearly a week since Activision and Infinity Ward has launched Call of Duty: Warzone, a standalone free to play game based on 2019’s Modern Warfare that is extremely focused on bringing large-scale Battle Royale matches with 150 players. So far, players were only allowed to play matches as 3-player squads, but as of now, the battle could become tougher with the Solo mode coming.
Call of Duty: Warzone’s announcement didn’t come as a surprise since lots of details have already been leaked about the Activision’s Battle Royale game. However, the game reached over 15 million players three days after launch, which is an epic achievement for Activision and the Call of Duty franchise. Previously, Apex Legends was holding a record for reaching 10 million players within 72 hours.
Call of Duty: Warzone’s Solo mode was one of the most anticipated features of the game that arrived much sooner than expected. Having said that, the community is also interested in a Quad mode along with some other features to be added to Warzone as well.

Aside from the Battle Royale mode, Call of Duty: Warzone features another way of playing called Plunder, tasking you and your teammates to deposit as more cash as you can before the end of the match. Unlike Battle Royale, there is no closing circle of death in Plunder. You will be respawned soon after you die before being forced to win a 1v1 match in Gulag.
Call of Duty: Warzone is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare already, a moderately small update will take you to Warzone. Otherwise, you will need nearly 100 GB of free space on your hard drive.
Although Activision has already announced that they will launch a new iteration of the Call of Duty series later this year, it seems Warzone would be a long-term project for the company, which would make it less surprising to see the game launching on next-gen consoles soon after they release.
