Since the launch of the Nintendo Switch, one title I’ve always thought would be a perfect fit for the hybrid console was Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons from Josef Fares. Today, 505 Games confirmed that the game is finally coming to system on May 28. And despite Fares’ comment to GameInformer years ago that “There were many voices in and outside that were saying, ‘You should do a co-op game,’ but I would rather cut my hands than do that,” the Nintendo Switch port does feature a special co-op mode.
That being said, this port is being handled by Turn Up Games, not Fares’ Hazelight Studios, so it may have not been Fares’ decision. On the other hand, Josef Fares’ “Director’s Commentary” that players can listen to while playing is still present in this port. The Joy-Con set-up of Nintendo Switch is perfect for a co-op mode in Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons though, so I’m glad that it is finally being added to the game on this platform almost 6 years after its initial release.
The Nintendo Switch port will also include a gallery full of concept art. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons comes in at only $14.99, with those who pre-order on the eShop getting a 10% discount. Otherwise, this Nintendo Switch release seems to be a fairly standard port. If the game runs well on the hybrid console, I could easily see this becoming the best platform to play Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons on after it comes out.
You can check out the first screenshots from the Switch port below. On May 28, Brother: A Tale of Two Sons will finally land on Nintendo Switch. Now I just want an exclusive pair of dark blue and orange Joy-Cons and for A Way Out to come to Nintendo Switch.
