Bandai Namco at The Game Awards 2020 revealed the release date estimate for Scarlet Nexus (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X). The new action RPG developed by members of the Tales of development teams is coming in Summer 2021. A new trailer was shared as well, showing protagonists Yuito Sumeragi and Kasane Randall as they use their psychic powers to battle earth’s invaders.
The trailer most notably emphasizes how the story works. Players can pick either Kasane or Yuito as the protagonist. Each of their route will offer a different perspective on the same story. Sometimes they will share scenarios and experiences, but they will also have their unique missions and locales. Furthermore, as we previously detailed, the protagonists can channel their allies’ psychic powers in battle. Moreover, with how Kasane and Yuito sometimes cross blades with each other, it looks like they will each have exclusive allies helping them out.
Scarlet Nexus The Game Awards Gameplay Trailer
Note that only an English dub version of the trailer is available at the moment. Else we’d definitely include the Japanese dub version as well.
The scenarist of Scarlet Nexus is Takumi Miyajima, who worked on Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss. Meanwhile, the game is directed by Kenji Anabuki, who worked on both aforementioned games, alongside Vesperia, Xillia, and Xillia 2.
Personally, I was initially very skeptical about Scarlet Nexus, but the more I’ve seen of it, the more hooked I’ve become, and this new trailer from The Game Awards, with a release date estimate, only piled up the hype. I’m looking forward to Summer 2021. You can be sure we’ll keep covering Scarlet Nexus as much as we can as we head towards release. Meanwhile, read the latest details here.
