World of Warcraft is one of the biggest MMORPG titles in the world and with it, comes an array of diverse and compelling characters. Last week, BlizzCon 2021 still went ahead digitally as it pulled off its first all-virtual event due to Covid-19 restrictions after having to cancel the event entirely last year. During its traditional cosplay contest, fans got to see probably the best World of Warcraft outfit they’ve ever laid eyes on by Hartigan Cosplay who rolled up as WoW‘s Bolvar Fordragon.
Jim, otherwise known as Hartigan Cosplay, is a cosplayer, props maker, and sculptor from Belgium. After spending many grueling hours getting their incredibly impressive Bolvar Fordragon outfit ready for the Blizzard cosplay contest, Jim ended up winning the Community Showcase awards for Best Cosplay and Best In Show. It’s hardly surprising given the amount of effort Jim has put into the attire. Blizzard Entertainment posted a tweet on their Twitter page congratulating Jim that also included a video showcasing the Fordragon cosplay that included electronics that give off light and smoke effects. It’s really amazing to watch.

For those unfamiliar with World of Warcraft‘s Bolvar Fordragon, he was formerly a venerated paladin of the alliance and one of the central characters in the new Shadowlands expansion and known for sitting on the Frozen Throne after players finally killed Arthas, the Lich King, in Wrath of the Lich King. I can’t imagine the work that went into this but the results certainly speak for themselves and Jim is very deserving of his newly acclaimed best cosplay title.
You can take a peek at the video below on how Jim achieved his Bolvar cosplay transformation, it’s a really eye-opening watch for those who have no idea the level of patience and skill that goes into designing and creating cosplay outfits. You can see many more pictures over on Jim’s Instagram so make sure to check those out. To check out another take on the Lich King, take a look at this cosplay by Reddit user sarahdeamakesthings.
