In preparation for the tenth anniversary of Bayonetta, PlatinumGames is celebrating their action-packed franchise in style. They recently announced on their official Twitter account a new merchandise line fashioned after the fabulous Umbra witch herself. Some of the revealed merch includes a backpack, wallet, watch, a figurine, and a model of her first set of guns Scarborough Fair:
It’s also been revealed that Bayonetta will be making an appearance in the iOS/Android game VALKYRIE ANATOMIA-THE ORIGIN. Square Enix will be releasing more information about the collaboration event at a later date. As an unfortunate side note, the Bayonetta event will only take place in the Japanese version of the game.
Finally a brand new submission contest on both Twitter and Instagram (as an aside PlatinumGames is now on Instagram). We discussed it at length before but the contest is officially on now:

In order to participate, follow the official PlatinumGames Twitter or Instagram accounts and post something with the #Bayonetta10th hashtag. Some examples include a favorite screenshot, favorite moment, artwork of a character, or show off some cosplay. You can check out the official page here for all the entry details and prizes.
To also celebrate the anniversary, PlatinumGames and Hideki Kamiya reflects on the Bayonetta series as it turns ten years old in a new blog post. There was some artwork created by Mari Shimazaki as well, the character designer for the Bayonetta series, and it does a great job of celebrating the characters and their designs from both games in the series.
Bayonetta 3 was first announced back in 2017 during the video game awards. Since then there’s been a small but promising trickle of news. Bayonetta 3 director Hideki Kamiya took to Twitter to delve into the IP and explain why the title is Nintendo Switch exclusive (hint: it’s because Nintendo funded it).
Later on, during a stage event at the Bitsummit Roadshow: Tokyo hosted at the Daikanyama Unit venue, Hideki Kamiya and Atsushi Inaba teased at its progress. According to them, everything is going well and they’re excited about what they’re doing with the game.
The latest news for the game comes from PlatinumGames’ studio head Atsushi Inaba. He stated that the title has seen a change in the design process when compared to the first two games. Inaba didn’t expand further on what this means specifically, but it’s definitely an interesting tidbit.
Meanwhile you can purchase both games on Nintendo Switch here, but not on the Wii U eShop as of now since Nintendo took said games off that store.
