This weekend, Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 is kicking off. It’ll be a week-long extravaganza of speedrunning, full of classic titles and raising money for a great cause. All donations raised during the event go to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Last year, the event raised $3.16 million over the course of the event. Hopefully, they can match or surpass that total again. Regardless, they’re sure to put on a good show.
2020 is almost over, but we start 2021 strong with #AGDQ2021! We're only 4 days away from a week of high-octane speedrun action!
The event might be virtual, but that doesn't mean we can't surprise you. Check out the website on Sunday; you might see a special Velocity showing . pic.twitter.com/1Dip5ECPfj

As we’ve come to expect, Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 will feature so many great games and runners. They have the full list available on the site, but I want to highlight a few runs that I’ll be making a point to watch. The first must-see run for me is the Ori and the Will of the Wisps race. Look, I’m a sucker for racing. So, I’m watching just about any game that has one. It doesn’t hurt in the slightest that it’s also a drop-dead gorgeous game in Ori.
I’m also very intrigued to see both the Diablo 3 and Hades speedruns. It’ll be a joy to see two games I love get absolutely ripped to shreds. Speaking of ripped to shreds, I Wanna Be the Fangame! is sure to be a treat for everyone besides the runner. Those hell-platformers are always worth a watch. I’ll also be checking out the Yakuza 6 speedrun, simply because Froob is such a fun runner.
And those games are barely scratching the surface. There’s also Beat Saber, Final Fantasy 7, and so much more. If you have any time over the next week to give the show a watch, it’s well worth your time.
Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 runs from January 3-10. All donations go directly to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. You can watch the whole thing over on Games Done Quick’s Twitch.
