Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the latest entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise and this time, players are taken into the formidable world of the Vikings. Last week, an 8-hour stream was showcased on Twitch where artist BossLogic created some incredible art for the game. Personally, I was mesmerized by it being a huge art lover but if you didn’t have the time to sit through the entire stream, you can watch the whole thing in 3 minutes in a wonderful timelapse. What we didn’t see in the trailer was the female version of Eivor, only really getting a glimpse of her in the Collector’s Edition for the game so we have an idea as to what she looks like but to give us more of an idea on how Lady Eivor could look in battle, an artist delves into this mysterious female Viking.
Concept Artist/Storyboard Artist for Film and Games Jessie Lam has pieced together an incredible creative version of their perception of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s female Eivor. As seen in the picture below, Jessie has done a fantastic job of showing Eivor’s deathly stare and warpainted face as she sails across a treacherous open sea, clinging onto the longboat as she prepares for battle. There also looks to be a raven perched on her shoulder and the backdrop to it all just adds to the intensity as we see a lightning infused sky giving off a wonderful purple hue. Being an Assassin’s Creed fan, Jessie also designed an outstanding piece of art of Kassandra from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Here Jessie crafted Kassandra in a bathhouse towel that shows off her strong physique and rippling muscles.
Jessie previously has worked for Skybound Entertainment, Crunchyroll, Bandai Namco Studios, Electronic Arts, and recently was the cinematics storyboard artist for Gears 5. If you’re a fan of Jessie’s art, you can check out all her creations over on her Artstation where you’ll also find art from The Witcher, Cyberpunk, and a host of other beauties alongside concept pieces of strong and powerful women.
We are very excited to see more gameplay trailers from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on May 7 as the Xbox Series X event will kick off then. We may even see something from games like Dying Light 2, Cyberpunk 2077, or Outriders might make an appearance, and also don’t be surprised if we also see some unexpected gaming surprises. It looks as though Assassin’s Creed Valhalla end credits could be very long indeed given that we know 15 studios are working on the game. This is a huge feat especially considering how the last installment, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, had 7 studios working on the title.
If you’re excited to get your hands on this title, thankfully you don’t have too long of a wait. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is set to launch Holiday 2020. It is confirmed that it will be a cross-gen title, however, it only mentioned Xbox One and Xbox Series X in the trailer. On the game’s official website, it does confirm it will also be coming to PS5, PS4, Stadia, and PC. With a notable list of games that include the likes of The Last of Us Part 2, Ghost of Tsushima, and Cyberpunk 2077, we will have plenty to keep us going until we can eagerly dip into the incredible looking Norse universe.
