If there’s any battle royale that can even lay a finger on the duo of Fortnite and Warzone, it’s Apex Legends.
The Respawn developed title surprise dropped in 2019, taking elements of what made Fortnite so successful and adding a little bit of Titanfall’s magic.
As with most games in the genre, Apex Legends relies on constant updates and regular events to keep things fresh and players coming back.
The next event is likely to be one of the most exciting so far, War Games. Here’s when we expect it to start.

What’s the start date for War Games?
The War Games event is set to kick off on Tuesday, April 13 and will run for two weeks, finishing on Tuesday, April 27.

What is War Games?
War Games is a brand new event within Apex Legends which sees “never-before-seen playlist modifiers, a new rewards track, and new challenges.”
Over the course of the event’s two-week schedule, players will encounter five different modifiers that will certainly shake things up.
The modifiers players can expect to encounter are as follows:
- Second Chance (April 13 – April 15) – Each player is granted one free respawn. That means, on death, players will be revived at “their current location retaining all their weapons and gear.”
- Ultra Zones (April 15 – April 19) – Dotted throughout the map will be a range of “Ultra Zones”. These special zones contain more epic loot and gold items than anywhere else on the map.
- Auto Banners (April 19 – April 21) – This is one of the smaller modifiers. Rather than having to retrieve teammates’ Banner Cards, they are automatically collected, meaning players can head straight for a Respawn Beacon.
- Killing Time (April 21 – April 23) – This time out, every time a player dies, the round time reduces. This means that games are likely to become very frantic.
- Armor Regen (April 23 – April 27) – As the name suggests, this modifier will cause players armor to automatically regenerate at 12 points per second.
Alongside these modifiers, players will have the opportunity to earn a range of new items and cosmetics.
What’s the expected Apex Legends War Games Start Time?
The majority of Apex Legends events begin at 10 am PT/ 1 pm ET/ 6 pm UK and this is likely to be the same again.
This is further strengthened by the fact that the Apex Legends website states “All modes begin and end during mornings, PT time.”
That means the Apex Legends War Games start time should be no later than 11:59 am PT on Tuesday. We’ll update this post should Respawn announce an official time
