Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans won’t have to wait too much longer to receive more seasonal content.
According to Nintendo of America’s official Twitter page, the game is set to receive items themed around “customs & events around the world.” Specifically mentioned was the Japanese tradition of Setsubun, which will see the Able Sisters and Nook Shopping selling an Ogre costume and Bean-Tossing Kit on February 1 and February 3 respectively. Although the wording of the tweet would suggest that players can expect items themed around other cultures as well, it is currently unclear if and when they will become available.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has become quite the hit for Nintendo. As of November 2020, it was the 2nd best selling game on the Switch, trailing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe by less than three million units. Considering that these numbers were posted before the holiday season, it is not unreasonable to imagine there may be a new number one when Nintendo reveals their sales figures at the end of the quarter. At Dualshockers we awarded the game a 9 out of 10, calling it “…easy, appealing, and effortless to hop back in each day.”
In other Animal Crossing: New Horizons news, ColourPop Cosmetics recently announced a collaboration with Nintendo of America stating they would be releasing a makeup collection inspired by the game. So if you’ve always dreamed about resembling Tom Nook, the Able Sisters, Isabelle or even Blathers, you can do so when the set launches at 10 a.m. PST on Jan. 28.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is currently available on Nintendo Switch.
