We’re now just a week away from Nintendo’s big blowout E3 Direct.

There’s a lot of hype and intrigue going into the showcase, with fans hoping to get plenty of information on unreleased titles – including Breath of the Wild 2, Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4.

However, there’s one title which is already out in the wild that is also garnering a lot of attention, and there’s no surprise with more than 32 million copies out there. That title is Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Here are our predictions for what Nintendo could announce for Animal Crossing: New Horizons at E3 2021.

The Legend of Zelda Collaboration

For Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary, Nintendo held a really cool crossover with Animal Crossing.

This event saw players able to purchase a bunch of neat Mario items, including furniture, wallpaper, clothing and more.

Now, in 2021, The Legend of Zelda celebrates a similar anniversary and there’s not much I’d like to see more than another crossover between the two behemoths.

It would be great to get a similar range of items as the Mario event, but also, maybe it’s time to bring back some of the Zelda villagers!

Island Expansion

Rumours have been floating about for a little while now that Animal Crossing: New Horizons would be getting an island size increase.

The rumours stated that the parameters of the islands had received a slight coordinate change in a recent update, so what better time to announce this than E3 2021.

Returning Favourites

It’s safe to say that when ACNH launched, the game was missing a few popular characters and locations.

Brewster and his Coffee Shop were excluded, Tortimer and Resetti were nowhere to be found, the night club was missing and there were plenty of shops which just turned to occasional stalls.

If New Horizons were to celebrate an island expansion, why not welcome a few favourites back home.

More To Collect

If you’re anything like myself, you like to collect things in New Horizons.

Be that fish, bugs, fossils, furniture, sea critters, furniture – anything.

Unfortunately, ACNH is lacking in that area right now. We’ve had all of the fish and bugs, all of the fossils can be collected in a relatively short time and there’s limited new furniture.

Now is the time to dip into the world of creatures and add a bunch more to the game, to help keep it fresh for people like me.

Alongside this, the game is still missing Gyroids. Although they don’t do a lot, I have fond memories of the wobbling, noisy little statues and would honestly love to see them back.

Fingers crossed E3 2021 is one to remember for Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans!
