Last year, Nintendo kicked off its Animal Crossing: New Horizons event schedule with Bunny Day and it went down like a lead balloon.
Players were desperate to spend time digging for new fossils, fishing for new fish, chopping trees to collect wood and shooting presents for goodies. Instead of these items, however, they were greeted with eggs.
These eggs, which replaced actual useful resources, allowed players to create a range of (ugly) Bunny Day furniture. There was such a backlash from it, that Nintendo released an emergency update to tone down the frequency of the eggs.
Unfortunately, the event is back this year, promising new Bunny Day Items and more. Here’s everything you need to know about the event, and here’s hoping Nintendo has learnt from their mistakes.

When does Animal Crossing: New Horizons Bunny Day 2021 start?
So, the actual event kicks off on April 4 this year, however, Nintendo has been so kind as to share that players can get stuck into the festivities from as early as March 28. As per usual, the event will start at Midnight within players local timezones.
What are the new Animal Crossing: New Horizons Bunny Day items?
Nintendo hasn’t actually shared too many details about them so far. Concerningly, they have said players can “Collect a variety of eggs and craft DIY Bunny Day themed items.” This means that the old garbage is likely to return.
Fortunately, there are some new Nook’s Cranny “exclusive” items that will be releasing, but it’s not clear what they are just yet. We have seen a Bunny Day sign and a bunny ear headband in images so far though.
What’s next for Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
Nintendo has already shared that there will be a few smaller celebrations dotted throughout April, but unfortunately, they haven’t shared what the next big, game-changing update will be just yet.
