The Ace Combat series is well known for its wide variety of playable fighters, multirole, and attack aircraft, and Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown’s release is drawing close.
While a rather large lineup of aircraft has been revealed, it’s natural to wonder whether there are more which Bandai Namco is still keeping under wraps, so I simply asked Producer Kazutoki Kono whether this is the case.
Kono-san san confirmed through a translator that not all the flyable aircraft have been revealed just yet:
“There is more.”
I did try to ask him for a number, but he answered that he can’t reveal that just yet. He also explained how the lineup was selected.
“For AC7 we have created the 3D models of all the aircraft from scratch. In terms of the amount of work, that was enormous. Basically, what we tried to do was to listen to the fans on what is popular among them, and we prioritized those aircraft, trying to implement as many as possible.”
If you want to see more, you can also check out the latest story trailer that also revealed the release date, and a previous trailer also focusing on the story. If you prefer gameplay, you can enjoy a recent video, and one I recorded myself at Gamescom 2018.
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will launch on January 18th for PS4 and Xbox One, while PC gamers will have to wait a little longer to February 1st for the release via Steam. Incidentally, the game won the highest honor among our Gamescom 2018 Awards.
You can already pre-order the game on Amazon.
