Asobo Studio and Focus Home Interactive have been soaking in the positive feedback the title has received since it released last week on May 14 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Currently, A Plague Tale: Innocence is sitting very nicely on Metacritic at 81 points compared to Rage 2 at 74 which goes to show how compelling this title has been since launch.

In celebration of its success, an accolades trailer has been released that displays scores and sentences from critics all over the world that shows off what they thought of the action-adventure stealth game plagued by rats. With tens of thousands of concurrent viewers on Twitch, Must Buy ratings from some of YouTube’s biggest gaming stars, and reviews calling it “incredible”, the “sleeper hit of the year”, and “outstanding”, Asobo’s new IP debut has had a stunning impact.

The positivity that the title has received goes to show that gamers more than ever crave a deep and hard-hitting narrative that keeps them engaged and engrossed. Even though the story is extremely dark and forbidding with plenty of nail-biting moments, the player’s heart is captured by the innocence and true sense of fear portrayed by siblings Amicia and Hugo De Rune as they take on a deathy world.

Recently, following the launch of the title, we saw Sean Bean recite a William Blake poem called The Little Boy Lost where he brings a serious tone to the trailer that he naturally does so well. I was waiting on him to say “Winter is coming” somewhere in there as it seemed highly suitable, but alas – it wasn’t to be.
