Death Road to Canada, a co-op Oregon Trail-inspired roguelike zombie game, made waves when it first released on PC in July of 2016. It had since made its way to iOS, but many were still eagerly awaiting console versions of the game. Those of you waiting won’t have to do so for much longer, as UKIYO Publishing announced today that they are working with developers Rocketcat Games and Madgarden to release Death Road to Canada on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch this Spring.
According to the developers, the console versions of Death Road to Canada will include all of the updates and content present in the PC version, so console players will be getting the same fun experience PC players have had for a year and a half. To coincide with this announcement, Kepa Auwae, Co-Founder of Rocketcat Games commented on finally bringing Death Road to Canada to consoles:
“We believe Death Road To Canada is perfectly suited to be played in both the home and on the go. Single player is great of course, but the local co-op mode brings a slower, more tactical pace to the game. With the Nintendo Switch’s Joy Con controllers and the promise of couch play on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, we’re proud to share the console experience of Death Road to Canada with players across the world.”
For those of you who don’t know, Death Road to Canada has players making their way from Florida to Ontario during a zombie apocalypse in hopes of escaping from the hordes of zombies plaguing the United States. The game prevalently features co-op, so you can flee the US with your friends, but also has a strong narrative to keep players invested in getting their characters to Canada.
