People in the UK Really Love Crash Bandicoot

The 33rd week of the US Sales chart is in, and for the 7th time this year, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is at the top.

While the Vicarious Visions-developed title extends its lead of having the most number ones for a 2017-released game and the most number ones of any PS4 exclusive, it notably saw a 23 percent dip in sales from last week. However, dip or no dip, the year of the Bandicoot continues in the UK.

After two weeks of no new entries, Saints Row developer Volition and its new release Agents of Mayhem made an underwhelming debut, managing to only grab the No.4 spot despite the lack of competition. Meanwhile, Paradox Interactive’s Cities: Skylines finally hit PS4 and last week, landing itself the No.20 spot. Notably, the Xbox One version of the game failed to chart in the Top 40 when it came out during Week 16 earlier this year, admittedly during a far more competitive time.

Elsewhere on the charts, the ever-present GTA V came in at No.2, followed by Fallout 4 at No.3, which has enjoyed a decent stay in the top five thanks to lengthy sale promotions. Rounding out the top five, is the aforementioned Agents of Mayhem and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Notably, Sega has confirmed to GamesIndustry, that if digital sales were counted that Sonic Mania (which was the biggest release last week, but only available digitally) would have been at the top by ‘quite some margin.’
