Taito Corporation announced today that Space Invaders Extreme and Groove Coaster would be invading the PC community next month.
According to the game’s official Steam Page, to celebrate the game’s 40th anniversary, Space Invaders will launch on PC via Steam sometime next month. Additionally, Space Invaders Extreme’s store page, as well as its PC configuration requirements, are now up.
Space Invaders Extreme is an updated version of the critically-acclaimed 1978 title. Initially, the title was released back in mid-2008 for the Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable, and Xbox Live Arcade to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Space Invaders release. Aside from updated graphics, visuals, and interactive sound, the Steam version also includes a brand new World Ranking System for Arcade Mode, as well as Leaderboards and Steam Achievements.
While the invader-themed rhythm title, Groove Coaster currently does not have a launch window, the developer has stated that the game will launch sometime this spring. A spin-off to Space Invaders; in Groove Coaster players control an avatar that traverses down a fixed trail and tasked with performing specific actions when notes appear on the screen, which is used to increase your score.
