Blowfish Studios and Crescent Moon Games’ The Deer God is now available for Nintendo Switch. Blowfish Studios CEO Ben Lee gives his take on the newest Nintendo platform:
“The Nintendo Switch is fast becoming an indie destination, and we feel The Deer God’s procedurally-generated levels and accessible platforming make the Switch a perfect fit for us. We’re pleased people can now take the spiritual lessons of The Deer God with them on their own personal journey.”
In the platforming adventure game, you play as a hunter who has been reincarnated into a fawn following a terrible hunting accident. You will have to explore and survive a procedurally-generated land to track down the secret to enlightenment and change back to your human form.
How you behave in the world will determine where your karma will align. By committing noble deeds such as sparing non-predatory wildlife, you’ll garner new abilities. On the flip side, killing everything around you will yield destructive powers, but draw you further away to your goal of enlightenment.
The Deer God initially released in Feburary 2015 for PC. Shortly after, it made its console debut on Xbox One in September 2015 as one of that month’s Games With Gold. Fast forward another two years, it releases for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in April 2017.
You can pick up The Deer God on the Nintendo eShop for $7.99. If you don’t own a Nintendo Switch, you can get a copy for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, PC, iOS, and Android.
