There aren’t many manga/anime franchises more iconic than the Dragon Ball Z series, with the anime debuting all the way back in 1989.
The series has since become a cultural phenomenon and has made appearances across a range of different media, including plenty of great video games.
The latest of these, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, is set to grace the Nintendo Switch very soon.
So, ahead of launch, here’s everything you need to know about Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot on the Switch, including the release date and time, plus the different editions available.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Nintendo Switch Release Date and Time
Fans who own a PC, PS4 or Xbox One have had access to Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot for a while now, with the game releasing on those platforms back in January 2020.
Now, its Nintendo Switch owners turn to get excited as the game is set to release on Friday, September 24.
As far as release times go, Nintendo offers some specific answers on both its US and European websites:
In the US, the website states that as the game also has a physical release, it will “usually be available at 9 pm PT” on the night before the game releases physically, however, it should be noted that “some third-party titles are not available until 12 pm PT” on release.
On the European site, Nintendo says that content will “usually” become available at 2 pm BST/3 pm CEST, however, third-party titles could be as late as 5 pm BST/6 pm CEST.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Nintendo Switch Editions
There are a total of three different editions for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot on the Nintendo Switch.
The Standard Edition, which comes with the base game and the “A New Power Awakens Set”, which offers 2 additional boss battles.
The Deluxe Edition comes with the above, plus the following extras:
• TRUNKS – THE WARRIOR OF HOPE
• A bonus Cooking Item
Then finally, the Ultimate Edition includes:
• TRUNKS – THE WARRIOR OF HOPE
• DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT – MUSIC COMPILATION PACK (11 additional songs from the anime)
• A bonus Cooking Item
• The Tao Pai Pai Pillar
