Did EA Cancel Battlefield 2042 Open Beta Pre-Order Bonus?
Recently, players noticed that the pre-order bonus was not visible for Battlefield 2042. For those who are unaware, the Battlefield 2042 pre-order bonus included Open Beta Access along with the Pre-Order Pack.
This was spotted by Okami Games, who mentions that the PS4 page of the game doesn’t mention the Open Beta Pre-Order Bonus anymore. This sparked a debate in the community, with many believing that EA will be excluding last-gen consoles from the open beta. While that makes sense to some extent, a large number of players still own last-gen consoles, considering how difficult it is to get your hands on the new consoles.
Thankfully, all this has been clarified by EA. The Lead Community Manager of EA Studios, Adam Freeman confirmed on Twitter that this was merely a bug and PS4 players will indeed be getting the open beta pre-order bonus. With the announcement, last-gen console players should breathe a sigh of relief.
When is the Battlefield 2042 Open Beta?
As of now, we have no information regarding this since EA is yet to make an announcement. That being said, several rumors point towards an end September release date, so players can expect it to arrive then.
